Admissions

Camborne has been de-zoned and Weeth does not have a “catchment” area.  Parents, who are considering applying to Weeth as their children’s school should contact the Admissions Department at County Hall.
The headteacher will be happy to show parents round and answer any questions. Parents, who wish their child to be considered for a place at Weeth, should fill in an application form (available from the school, libraries, surgeries etc.) in the Autumn term before the academic year in which their child turns five.

The application forms are then sent to County Hall, where admissions officers apply their guidelines to make decisions about which children will be allocated a place at Weeth. An appeal process is available for parents in the event of a refusal. Details of this process are available from school.

Admission of Under 5’s

All children join Weeth School full time at the beginning of the school year in which they turn five. All children and parents/carers are invited to three ”stay and play" sessions in the summer term preceding their starting at Weeth. We also offer a “Home Visit” by our Foundation Stage teacher Rachel Peacock, our Learning Mentor, Linzi Kitchin, and one of our early years teaching assistants.

We are a relatively small school and aim to achieve a “family” atmosphere, with our older children taking responsibility for and looking after the younger children. The staff are committed to ensuring that every child achieves the necessary foundation skills in literacy and mathematics whilst developing socially and personally. He/she will be encouraged to work, play and co-operate with others and there will be opportunities to extend their knowledge of the world and their physical control, manipulative and creative development.

If you have any queries about our under-5 provision, please contact the school. It is important for all children to visit Weeth School before they start.
