Another fantastic fun filled day. We spent the day at 'We The Curious' (science museum) where we had the chance to explore a range of hands on activities.
Our morning workshop was about electricity. We became a human circuit and had to test out if objects were conductors or insulators. Some were even a bit of both!
We then had time to explore the museum and made some fantastic animations, put ourselves in bubbles, made shadow photos on a wall and even became a hamster on a wheel!
After lunch was the breathtaking 3D planetarium experience. We all wore 3D glasses and lay back to be marvelled by our solar system. It was incredible.
Everyone enjoyed the day and we've bought some goodies from the shop.
Heading home now with a quick dinner stop. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
This evening Pirate Pete took his pirate crew on a tour around Bristol to find out the history of pirates. We saw where the caves that pirates hid in were and the pub that the author Robert Louis Stevenson got some of his ideas for Treasure Island from.
Thankfully, no one was press ganged and we are all safely back in our rooms ready to settle down for the night.
What an exciting day! Firstly, we had a 'Habitats' activity session where we got to hold or stroke different species that live in the rainforest.
We then saw the Gorillas being fed - they were very entertaining.
We spotted sloths, lions, monkeys, penguins, crocodiles to name but a few. There was a quick ice cream stop before heading into the aquarium.
We ended our zoo visit with a trip to the gift shop and now have a few more sloths and monkeys on board the coach! Back to the YHA for dinner before turning into pirates!
Good morning from a slightly overcast Bristol. Children slept well (full on late night snacks!) and had to be woken up this morning. They've just had a filling breakfast of cereal, full English, toast and pastries.
We've got our packed lunches ready and are now showering and prepping our dorms ready for room inspection at 9am.
Next up date: Bristol Zoo
Our Year 5/6 Bristol Trip are on their way..
They all arrived safely, and after a picnic they have headed out on their first adventure....
The Banksey art walk was enjoyed by all this afternoon. The children were impressed with all the bits of art that were secretly done around the city. The children then got a chance to spray can some stencil art which they are bringing home with them.
The ferry boat ride along the canal was wonderful in the glorious sunshine. They learned all about the history of Bristol and saw bridges built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. They also saw SS Great Britain.
Currently, now all back in their rooms chilling for the evening before bed.
